Why the Tiki Boat Works for a Birthday

The Tiki Boat turns a birthday into an event. Sixteen guests fit comfortably under the covered tiki bar, so the guest of honor and everyone who came to celebrate stay together in one place. There is a restroom on board, which matters more on a four hour party than anyone expects, especially with kids and grandparents aboard. The Bluetooth sound system runs your playlist, the tritoon hull rides smooth and steady with a full group aboard, and fuel is included, so there is no fuel bill waiting at the dock when you come back in.
Pick the Right Boat for Your Party
The Tiki Boat, for up to 16 guests. Our signature party boat at $250 per hour, and the boat our 30th birthday groups ask for by name.
The double decker Funships, for up to 12 guests each. Two Tahoe Cascade Funships with water slides, the 2020 at $200 per hour and the 2021 at $225 per hour. The slides make these the pick for kids and teens, and plenty of grown ups too. Book both together as the Twin Tahoes at $400 per hour and up to 22 guests get two double deckers side by side.
A pontoon, for a smaller crew. Groups of 11 to 14 can keep it simple and spend less with a pontoon or tritoon at $75 to $100 per hour, the Bentley carrying 14, the 2022 Premier 12, and the Sweetwater and 2014 Premier 11 each. The Sweetwater is a guest favorite for birthdays and lake days.
Every boat rents for a minimum of 4 hours. Groups larger than 22 can book more than one boat and tie up together.

What It Costs When the Group Splits It
Birthday math is group math. A 4 hour trip on the Tiki Boat is $1,000 for the boat, which splits to $62.50 a guest at 16 guests. The 2020 Funship splits to about $67 a guest at 12, the Twin Tahoes to about $73 a guest at 22, and a weekend pontoon day on the Bentley splits to $25 a guest at 14. If you hire a captain, that is separate: you pay the captain directly at $35 per hour, only if you choose one.
Want a Captain? Hire One Directly
Tiki Time is a boat rental company, not a charter company, so our boats rent without a crew. If you would rather relax than drive, we will share our list of independent captains. You hire the captain directly and pay the captain directly, $35 per hour. Birthday groups love it, because the guest of honor should never have to be the driver, and it is always your choice, never a requirement.
Pickup and Delivery
Pickup at our marina in Mooresville is free, and parking at the marina is free. Staying at a lake house for the weekend? We deliver to most docks on Lake Norman for $75, and delivery is free at Big Dukes Lane in Mooresville, so the boat can come to your dock instead.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the minimum rental time?
Every boat rents for a minimum of 4 hours. You can always book longer, and full days on the water are our most popular rental.
Is fuel included?
Fuel is included on the Tiki Boat. On every other boat, your boat goes out with a full tank and you pay for the fuel you use when you return.
Can we hire a captain?
Yes. We will share our list of independent captains, and you hire the captain directly and pay the captain directly, $35 per hour. The captain works for you for the day, not as part of the rental price.
How many people can fit on each boat?
The Bentley carries 14, the 2014 Premier and the Sweetwater carry 11 each, the 2022 Premier carries 12, each Funship carries 12, the Tiki Boat carries 16 plus a captain, and the Twin Tahoes carry 22 plus 2 captains.
Can you deliver the boat to our dock or lake house?
Yes. Delivery is $75 to most docks on Lake Norman, and free at Big Dukes Lane in Mooresville.
What happens if the weather turns bad?
If unsafe weather keeps a boat from launching, and that call is ours to make before you leave the dock, we will work with you to reschedule or credit your rental. Forecasts alone do not cancel a rental, because Lake Norman weather changes fast and most days turn out fine. Our full cancellation terms are confirmed at booking, and bookings made 30 days or more ahead can be cancelled for a full refund.
Are there restrooms?
Yes. The Tiki Boat has a restroom on board, and there are restrooms at the marina for everyone else before you head out and when you come back in.
Can we book an evening or sunset rental?
Yes. Rentals run within our 9 AM to 9 PM hours, and an evening block is a beautiful way to catch sunset on the lake. Every rental is still a 4 hour minimum, so plan your start time with sunset in mind.
