Every boat rents for a minimum of 4 hours. Rates are per hour.

On the four pontoons and tritoons, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday rentals add a flat $50 to the 4 hour total. Fuel is included on the Tiki Boat. On every other boat, your boat goes out full and you pay for the fuel you use.

Pickup at our Mooresville marina is free, and so is parking. Staying at a lake house instead? We deliver to most docks on Lake Norman for $75, and delivery is free at Big Dukes Lane, right here in Mooresville.

We are a rental company, not a charter company, so our boats rent without a crew. Mooresville locals with lake experience take the wheel themselves. Rather relax? We will share our list of independent captains. You hire the captain directly and pay the captain directly, $35 per hour.

1. What is the minimum rental time?

Every boat rents for a minimum of 4 hours. You can always book longer, and full days on the water are our most popular rental.

2. How much does it cost to rent a boat on Lake Norman?

Pontoons and tritoons run $75 to $100 per hour. The double decker Funships are $200 and $225 per hour, the Tiki Boat is $250 per hour with fuel included, and the Twin Tahoes are $400 per hour. On the four pontoons, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday rentals add a flat $50 to the 4 hour total.

3. Is fuel included?

Fuel is included on the Tiki Boat. On every other boat, your boat goes out with a full tank and you pay for the fuel you use when you return.

4. Does the boat come with a captain?

No. Tiki Time is a boat rental company, not a charter company, so our boats rent without a crew. Most guests drive themselves. If you would rather not drive, see the next answer.

5. Can we hire a captain?

Yes. We will share our list of independent captains, and you hire the captain directly and pay the captain directly, $35 per hour. The captain works for you for the day, not as part of the rental price.

6. Can I drive the boat myself?

Yes. Before you leave the dock we walk you through the boat, the controls, and the safety equipment on board, and we make sure you are comfortable before you head out.

7. How many people can fit on each boat?

The Bentley carries 14, the 2014 Premier and the Sweetwater carry 11 each, the 2022 Premier carries 12, each Funship carries 12, the Tiki Boat carries 16 plus a captain, and the Twin Tahoes carry 22 plus 2 captains.

8. Where are you located, and where do we pick up the boat?

We are based in Mooresville, on the north side of Lake Norman. You pick up your boat at our marina in Mooresville, and parking at the marina is free. Staying somewhere else on the lake? Ask us about delivery to your dock.

9. Can you deliver the boat to our dock or lake house?

Yes. Delivery is $75 to most docks on Lake Norman, and free at Big Dukes Lane in Mooresville.

10. What areas do you serve?

Mooresville, Cornelius, Davidson, Denver, Huntersville, Troutman, Sherrills Ford, and Statesville, plus lake houses and docks all around Lake Norman.

11. What happens if the weather turns bad?

If unsafe weather keeps a boat from launching, and that call is ours to make before you leave the dock, we will work with you to reschedule or credit your rental. Forecasts alone do not cancel a rental, because Lake Norman weather changes fast and most days turn out fine. Our full cancellation terms are confirmed at booking, and bookings made 30 days or more ahead can be cancelled for a full refund.

Yes. Parking at our Mooresville marina is free for rental guests.

15. Are there restrooms?

Yes. The Tiki Boat has a restroom on board, and there are restrooms at the marina for everyone else before you head out and when you come back in.

16. Which boat is best for a big group?

The Twin Tahoes carry 22 guests and are built for big celebrations. The Tiki Boat carries 16 and adds a restroom on board and fuel included. Groups bigger than that can book more than one boat.

17. Do you have boats with slides?

Yes. Both Funships are double deckers with slides, and the Twin Tahoes pair two of them side by side.

18. Can we book an evening or sunset rental?

Yes. Rentals run within our 9 AM to 9 PM hours, and an evening block is a beautiful way to catch sunset on the lake. Every rental is still a 4 hour minimum, so plan your start time with sunset in mind.
